Today marks a new milestone for the state’s Council of Internal Auditing as newly-appointed State Controller Nels Roseland took the helm chairing the Council for the first time.

May is Internal Audit Awareness Month. The state of North Carolina celebrated the importance of its internal auditors with a proclamation issued by Governor Roy Cooper.

At a virtual event co-hosted by the National Governors Association today, Results for America highlighted North Carolina as a leading state in using evidence and data to deliver better results for North Carolinians. 
 

The annual Performance Management Academy provides training to state employees on evidence based decision making. There were 37 graduates of the 2021 program.
Leaders from OSBM and NC PRO were featured panelists in Harvard Kennedy School’s Government Performance Lab’s Stimulus Learning Series.
The Council of Internal Auditing is now accepting nominations for the annual state government Internal Auditing Award of Excellence.

One year ago today, on Aug. 9, 2020, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake centered in Sparta shook parts of western North Carolina, damaging more than 533 homes and businesses.

Kristin Walker, Deputy State Budget Director for the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management, has been elected to serve as the Southern Regional Director for the National Association of Budget Directors (NASBO) Executive Committee. 

State Budget Director Charlie Perusse has been honored with the “Thought Leader Award” from the Carolina Small Business Development Fund (CSBDF). The organization held their annual small business awards program on May 27, 2021.
